I know there are several threads on the oil horn but I still can't figure it out. It is a 1996 250EFI. I turn the key on get one beep then it shuts off. No light. A after 30 seconds or so of running the light comes on with 4 beeps. Stays on and every 2 minutes or so I get the 4 beeps again. The remote tank is full. the engine tank is full. It is pumping because I mixed oil in the gas tank with this problem.
There are two engines and both burned the exact amount of oil out of the tank. I exchanged the low oil switch on the engine tank with the other motor and I still get the horn.
I have the 3 function gauge. The left light is temp, the top is water in fuel, the right is the oil. It is the oil light. I disconnect the wire from the separator and the problem is the same. If I disconnect the wires from the low oil sensor the horn and light comes on as soon as the key is on.
There are two blue wires out of the low oil sensor with male ends. One hooks to a blue female and one to a black female. They go to the ECM.
I am assuming either wire will work right? I tried it both ways and still get the same horn problem.
I don't see a low oil module in the electrical diagram. I don't see a rotating sensor on the diagram to sense the oil pump is pumping. I heard these mentioned on the other threads.
Most people disconnect it all. With 110 gallons of fuel I would like to keep using the injection system. What should I check next or what am I missing?
