Just wondering if the Panther Model 450 power jackplate is any good... pros & cons??? It sounds like it uses a mechanical actuator instead of hydrolics (I could be wrong)? Seems like it would be lighter and less to corrode or go wrong over time... 6" set-back with 5.5 vertical travel. Anyone have one or know about them?
Looking to add a power J.P. to my X-stream SOON... :thumbsup:Thanks, JIM.

I've been looking at one of these as well.
To the top!

The Panther & Detwiter are both made by MarineTech Products. I looked at the 450 model on another guys boat and seemed to be very well made and operated quick and smoothly and I like the fact it has no hydrolics to leak or corrode.
In the process, the guy mentioned that Panther also makes a model 300 "dual-action" that works off the same mechanical actuator but uses a parrellel ladder-link system that gives you about 8" of set-back when down position and about 12" of setback when fully up. The 300 para-lift is more money, but for my application, it looks to be the better plan!
Here's a manufactures link to check out the 300 dual-action and the 450 as well:

I only found one review online and the guy was a tourny pro fisherman and said it was a rock solid accessory.
