Hey,
I want to update the looks of my old looper(86 225), and found a 98 fitch cowl, and pans for a reasonable price. Just curious on what all needs to be done from those who have made a similar swap. I have searched a few different ways without much result. From what i've been told, I just need the hood, and the pans, but also the adaptor plate to make it fit the old style setup.
Any other tips, or parts I need to be aware of?
Thanks
JD

you need to plug the back of the mid up where the exhaust comes out of the 2 holes. we ran the piss tube out where the new style exhaust usually exits through the rectangular holes. you can kinda see it in this video

Thanks!
I'll have to check that out when I get home. My work comp wont allow me to look at vids or pics. I love the looks of yours, and really want to get rid of the box I have right now. In the "show us you omc" thread, there was a white/blue stv or mirage with a white cowl, taylor mid etc that just made me drool. Thats what I shooting for!

When I put new style pans and cover on my 89, I just used a piece of 1/8" thick lexan and cut it to fit the groves in hole of the new style covers. I then cut a piece of hose (radiator hose was what I used) about three inches long that I could fit over the old style adapter and clamped it with bunches of silicon to make sure it was sealed. I cut a hole in the lexan to fit the that piece of hole through and sealed it well with silicon on both sides to hold it. I also drilled a hole in the lexan to run my pisser hose through, so I didn't have to drill holes in my pans. Worked great and didn't have to mess up my new pans with a bunch of holes.

good clean way to do it but if im remembering correctly 89 tuner is different then a 87... 87 doesnt have an exhaust exit in the tuner only the 2 holes in the mid (like a crossflow)

Thanks for the responses, are there any other parts from this I will need besides #30, #37 from what you remember?

that link doesnt show the parts... all you need is the insert for the rear where the exhaust would normally exit a 94+ (unless you do what ben did).
