And how did it make your boat perform? I was thinking that with all the tubing sking we are going to be doing, that it might help with low speed planeing.
Thanks,
Dean

Dean:

That is a picture of a planing plate from Bob's Machine. There are many models of them available and they do help to keep a boat on plane at lower speeds. I would not want to run one if my cavitation plate was below the bottom level of the boat. They can cause a lot of drag if your cavitation plate is not a little above the bottom of the boat.

Best wishes, Carter Powell

They are good for low speed planing. Also they have fins underneath to help hold water on the prop, (should make turns for tubing/sking more fun!). Give a call if you have any tech questions regarding your specific application.

I put one on my Virage, and my overhub prop went from screaming at 5000 rpm for what seemed like a 5 minute wait to just planing like a normal prop.

Waterskiing was better with a through hub prop too.

I've got measure where my cav plate is relation to the bottom of my boat. Sounds like they work real well, as long as the boat is set-up right, (Engine height)
Thanks,
Dean

i had one on my center console and it did help limit cavitation while turning.

I put one on our Mako this year. Love it!!! Planes quite bit faster, don't need as much trim to get to our best cruising speed, and will hold a plane at 2000 rpms. Quick install also.:thumbsup:Chuck

 They help a lot on hole shots and cavitation at slow speeds - there is a guy on the Fast Bass web site that's making them out of carbon fiber and they look real good in his picture.
