Is there anyway to chemically remove bottom paint.
I tried carb cleaner and a scotch brite pad and it works slowly.

Thanks for any help.

the easiest way is to hire a couple of those dudes that are looking for hand-outs, hand them a couple sanders and throw them under your boat

Oven cleaner  Spray let it sit a few minutes and scrape away. Wear gloves and mask.

I was thinking of posting that. Found out the hard way one time using it to remove decals and the paint came off too....

That aircraft stripper is some harsh stuff...

I used this stuff. it worked as shown. after I removed the paint I went over the bottom with 1000 then 1500 wet dry paper. It looks like new. A little messy but easy to use. If you are going to repaint then no need to sand. It leaves just a slight tint of color if you don't sand.

Paint stripper will break down and soften paint, gelcoat, skin, etc. It's extremely nasty stuff. Not a good idea unless the hull is aluminum.

With Pyro, I dont want any chemicals soaking in to my fiberglass.
The Media blasting is probably the fastest. Hell just spray with some primer, sand it and call it "Blueprinted":D

Have it soda blasted. When done right the results are amazing.
