I have a small fuel pump that I want to put on my 115 crossflow. How much pressure can I put on this engine? The fuel ball keeps getting sucked dry.

If it is sucking the primer bulb flat, you have a restriction.
Bad valve in primer bulb
bad check valve in tank
kinked to stopped up line.
I wouldn't put an electric on a V4. It doesn't need it.

:iagree:  I have always been told that the fuel pumps working if it sucks the primer ball flat. I just had the same issue. I had a bad anti syphon valve. I changed to a fuel barb and solved my problem. it could be a stopped up vent also.. but definitely a restriction... look in search for fuel restrictions or fuel pumps for more info.

Thanks for the fast reply.
I dont know if makes a diff or not but it is not sucking the bulb flat I just have to keep pumping it while the engine is running?
Thanks for the good info so far. Today when I get home I'll check the screen in the tank and replace the bulb.

If you have to keep pumping the bulb to keep it running then it probably is the pump.

What year? It has a pulse diaphragm pump that operates from the pressure oscillations of the crankcase pressure. The fuel pump is located on the port side rear of the air box.

 Dammed if I know!!!
Normally they are in between the air box and starter... I see the starter
Trace the fuel line from the carbs and see where it goes.

After further review, it turns out that my 14ft Boston Whaler Rage with 115 Crossflow dose not have the fuel pump that you guys are talking about. It turns out that Boston Whaler uses a separate pump that also mixes the oil into the fuel before it goes to carbs. Needless to say, that pump is junk and I removed the oil tank. So I plumbed in a small fuel pump and premix now. Thanks for the replies guys.
