on hydrostream registry, it lists the different boat weights, i was curious how they weighed them, did they have interiors, rigging, etc?? my boat weighed in at 1960 lbs!!!! that includes all rigging, the engine and half a tank of fuel, according to hydrostream, the boat weighs 950 lbs!!! i know its not wet, i've used a moisture meter on it

that leaves about 400 lbs unaccounted for. i figure about 600lbs for motor and rigging.

Charlie,
we never had two models of the same boat that were the exact same weight and we had many.
they should have said est. weight.

As far as from what I have been told all the weights published are approximate unrigged dry weights. Take the Mini VooDoo for example, it lists it at 220 pounds and I know with a motor and full tank of fuel it would weigh alot more than 220 pounds. On Hydrostreamforums all the weights are listed as approximate weights and on hydrostream.org they are listed as approx also if I remember right.

I think it's the complete boat without rigging and without engine but WITH seats, bench etc and other things that belong to the boat (and not to the engine).
I'm going to weigh mine when she is fixed and ready to go.

their weights must be pretty far off!! i can understand the estimated thing, but definetely a little ridiculous!! did they weigh the boats bare or w/ full interiors? my boat literally is a ton of fun!!:p

Maybe JTjr. can chime in. I'm almost posative he's posted about the weights before and how they were weighed. If I remember right he mentioned they were heavier than what was published in the brochures.

I hope mine is not too heavy! It feels quite heavy though.

I always heard they weighed them empty, and I mean empty. No rigging. No seats. No nothing. etc...

by my math i come up w/ 850 lbs of additional stuff (motor/trim pump, hyd jackplate, fuel(20 gals),tank, pumps, electrical, safety gear and tool kit and just rigging bs), so that still leaves 1100 lbs, so do they include the interior in the weights?

Depends what moron was running the chopper gun that day. They were built so inconsistant that a fixed weight would be tough to nail down.

a lot of variation. No doubt they were weighed in the old days (pre-1980) and most new models were weighed at one point or another. When I was there we weighed the completed parts (deck and hull) but not assembled...weighed deck, then weighed hull, then added together. Hull was with carpet, floor, rubrail, etc. Deck was with gauges/controls if so equipped, no windshields, no seats, no gas tanks, etc.

thanks!! that kinda explains it, the back seat assy is fairly heavy in the boat, as well as the front seats, so the weight would be fairly close(prob. within 100 lbs or so)

we need to take the seat out on our next run.

My stock hst seats are 20lbs each. They are in cood condition and 100% dry.
I weighed the bench but I forgot how much it was...
I think it was around 90lbs for the entire hst interior: bench, seats and sundeck.

I dont think the back seat makes that much Differance but what do I know ...Balzy ran without a Back seat...He ran 106mph...I have the Back seat in ...It was a fairly new boat to me and I ran 104mph with the same prop and over a half tank of fuel ...I myself weighed 230 ish .....Balzy was just a little stick guy:D:cheers:

Yeaah I know... But charly thinks his interior is 100lbs but if the interior in the hst is already 90lbs I think it will be heavier than 100... That was what I was trying to say.
The virage has also side panels, a cushon in the bow etc...

the back seat in the virage takes 2 people to lift it out, so a guess is 100 lbs+(w/ the bottom cushion), my front seats are prob 40-50 lbs each, i don't have the matress installed under the bow(its in the garage)

Wow sounds real heavy! So reckon on an interior of 200lbs...
I dont know how good or bad the virage carries weight. But at the speeds that you get It's all aired out so I dont know if it will make such a difference speedwise.
You never posted the performance results of blueprinting the bottom. I realy wonder if it was worth the time? Is it faster now? Better performance, airs out quicker?
Let me know;)
