I just called my Progressive Insurance agent to get a quote for a 2008 Allison SS2000 that I'm gonna put a 115 hp Optimax on. They said all Allison models were too high risk and thus were uninsurable. I tried to explain that I'm 15hp under the recommendation but they didn't care. Can anyone suggest the best companies to insure an Allison?

State Farm covers mine. If you insure everything with one carrier they may not have an objection to one item (Allison).
Of course if damage happens during racing it is not covered so it better happen during "normal riding conditions".

I have all my stuff with State Farm even my Quartershot T1, when I blew it over in a race) I called my agent and told her I wrecked my boat, then I told her it was in a race and I knew it wasn't covered, I just needed to cancel my coverage. A tough call to make but it was the truth.

They have covered ALL my boats, Mirage, Allison, Quartershots with no question.

I have Allstate along with my other stuff. Very reasonable price. I think you're seeing a trend...if you have your autos/home, etc. covered with them, you'll get favorable treatment.

I've always used Allstate. The most important thing to know about getting coverage is that you need to have all of your stuff (house, car, boat, umbrella, etc..) with the same agency. When you have all your stuff insured, the agent is willing to put in the extra effort to get your speedboat covered! When you get into insuring speedboats and toys like that, it's time to stop nickel & diming on rates; insurance is very important imo. Not to protect your toys but to protect your a$$ if you end up getting sued for some reason. ;)

I use Allstate, had nothing but bs with State Farm. State Farm wrote a policy but a week later they canceled it because they said they did NOT cover tunnel boats.

Allstate's policy cost considerably less than State Farm anyway. I canceled all my policy's with State Farm and went with Allstate for everything. House, cars, boats, trucks and wheelers.

Best move I've ever made.

xb2002 with a 200xs costs $202.00 a year with State Farm. They only insure my Harley's and this boat, nothing else.
