2.6 cross flow

Going to try 100 + mph in 89 mirage ski / racer with 83 2.6 gt .
30 chopper, flexflywheel , nosecone with lwp , propshaft @ bottom .
Anything I need to know ?

use super 93 or better,under 7000 rpm if you don't have forged pistons,watch your timing- 28 if super,30 if your using race gas

How about the JAG ? Is it good for 100 + mph safely

If it has true XP/GT heads 30 degrees is toooo much, it will actually lose power. An overly rich motor will compensate for excess timing.

I already blew a 2.6 @ 30 degrees timing , won't do that again .
What do I need to know about the jag @ 100 mph.

were you running race gas at 30 deg???read my post. I run 28 total on 93 octane pump gas for 4 years at 6000+ rpm.
i got a set of l&s 255x heads with 1 cyl has a couple of small dents from ring damage if you want them cheap!
BTW- with 7% slip your gonna have to turn that 30" to 7000 :D

Hey 84exiter !
Last year I had 85 2.6 gt , was going fine @20 degrees but thought that was a little low so bumped it up to 30 and melted # 6, 30 sec. @ WOT. Was using 93 pump, cranking comp. was 110 .
What will them heads you have do to my 83 GT . I have 325639 now. I will take them anyway just to have a spare set.

The L&S heads are 2 piece ones they look like stockers but higher comp.I liked them never had a problem on 93 + 104+octane booster.Took 'em off 'cause I did'nt feel like running the 104+ all the time.I definately noticed a difference without them.They never had a cooling problem either like the 1 piece billet heads L&S made for the Loopers.BTW, the 27 or 28 is all you can go on 93 pump(but you knew that)OMC ran 30 deg but said min. 93 (ron) LEADED PREMIUM fuel.
OH, my cranking comp is 110 also,cold throttles closed:D

Hey 84exciter !
How much for the heads , and how could you send them to me ?
Also , never made it to 100 mph tonight but will get there soon.
Pulls hard if I stay on the gas , as soon as I let off the gas it starts to bog . Midrange is boggy also , to lean I think 90 mph speedo lots more to go , need glasses or somthing.
