Let me first start out saying I'm new so I got a lot of question's. I currently have a 05 procraft 180 with a 200 merc classic I'm having RPM issuses at WOT it's turning 5200 trimed out the range is 5200 to 5600 rpm I have 23 pitch prop lazer II if I drop down to a 22 eneritia will it hurt my top end and hole shot?

1'st of all, good to have you on here. I would try a 21P Tempest on that boat if you could get your hands on one.

Sounds like your prop is buried. Your propshaft needs to be 3" below the pad. Many times these boats come with them 5 or more inches below. Run a long straight edge along the pad (flat bottom most part of your hull) out to the gearcase which should be level. Measure the difference between where the pad is and the center of your gearcase bullet. That should be 3". If it's more then your engine is too low which explains the low rpms. Your 200 should be easily able to turn that 23 up to 6000 but not if 5" below the pad.
Do you have a jackplate? If not that's where you spend your first money. Get an inexpensive 6" static plate. Rapidjack from Hydrodynamics is a good one as is CMC. That gives you the ability to easily raise and lower your engine plus the setback gets the prop back in clean water and also leverages the hulls to fly the bow.
Once you get your engine height squared away then you can start experiementing with props. :cheers:
