I got a lot of resin on my good gelcoat when I was doing a repair. It is stuck pretty good. When I try to scrape it off, it chips some gelcoat off with it.

Any suggestions on getting it off? Wet sanding might work, but I don't want to go that far if I don't have to.

I would wet sand it if it was me, i would be afraid anything that softened that would sften the gel too.

i am in agreement with georgia boy. about the only way to remove it would be to sand. does anyone out there have a secret trick.???

I think sanding is the only way. BUT you could try a blow dryer or put it in the sun to get real warm and soft. I doubt it will work but it might. Even if it does your probably still going to sand to clean the rest up.

Just did that, smacked it with a chisel to get it off and took a hunk of gelcoat out. Guess you don't need to sand to make that stuff stick! I ended up using a razor blade on some of it, and sanding the rest.
