a friend of mine once had a jet boat he got from a fire fighter. this fire fighter was into nazzles and had the nozzle on this pump worked to better focus the water stream. when we first went out in it the water coming out of the nozzle was very focused and resembled a glass rod. after time it was less focused but still very tight compaired to any others ive seen. this was a big day cruiser mini cabin style boat and it hauled about 80 on smooth water
do those nozzle inserts focus the stream like that?

yes they do thats the whole point of them. lol
the diameter of the nozzle will change the performance. most stock nozzles had an id of 3.250 most diverters will be 3.125 this eight inch will squeeze the stream more and simply give the boat more thrust. you will find some light weight race boats may run something as small as 3 inches. having the pressure matched to your application will make a difference.

The bigger the orifice more thrust. The smaller the orifice more velocity.
