exhaust plate question

i just installed a lightweight cowl on a 93 200 mercury. on the exhaust plate theres a water outlet that runs to the thermostat housing. is there any way to do away with exhaust plate outlet? i would also like to run duel telltales if possible. the reason for asking is i noticed a crack in it around one of the bolt holes. i have one off a 2.4 that doesnt have the water outlet that i could use if have to change it. also what about that 1 in. or so hole in the midsection. thanks for your help, steven

If you are running thermostats you can block the exhaust plate tube and run duel hoses off the thermostat housings.
