I'm used to running single ram mids & never had a problem trimming out under WOT. Newer ('89) won't trim out all the way unless I back off the throttle and trim up then throttle up again.
Are all these intregal pump units this sorry or do I have a problem?

You got a problem, its the same unit used on 25" and 30" engines that put much more demand on the trim rams than a 20" engine like yours[more leverage].Make sure your manual relief valve is tight.

If you are trying to trim past the reach of the 2 smaller rams, it won't go if you are giving it much power. The pump will simply bypass. If you trim it higher while idling when you give it throttle again the motor will go back down until the small rams are touching the mid again. I'm not sure if that is what you were asking though.

I'll check the relief. Hank....It does feel like it's doin' that (slowly sinking back down to a nuetral trim) but it's hard to believe I'm getting enough positive trim to pass those twin rams....
That stinks if that's all the lift they got?
Can I be low on fluid 'er somethin'? Feels like she trims up fine and then hits a wall under load.....I gotta back off/ trim up/ and gun it....to get her to fly the bow.....then she seems to sink back in slowly as I lose my bow height. I know I need more setback
(8" at present) but she oughta' at least hold once I get her there no?......

i think hank is right. i ran into that problem on my inferno because the transom has so much tuck built in. i had to install wedges to get the extra few degrees i needed. the trim will not hold the motor under power once you get into the tilt range. the motor will come back down to the top of the trim range. with the hull your running the fact that the motor is running out of trim is really that surprising. hopefully this is it and what's keeping you out of the 70's. while idling through the water trim the motor to the top of the trim range( not the tilt) and hit the gas pretty hard while watching the motor. it shouldn't move from there on in. good luck, erik

Can't remember where I saw them, BPS, West or someplace like that, but there are ram extensions that can give you another 1/2 to 1 inch of trim. Might help.

I saw some extenders on the L&S website before.............I don't know if they still have em' or not though.

found em'.......PN 115-204 for most motors.
Adds 4 degrees of trim, but you lose that 4 degrees of tuck in...........D'OH.
