Anyone heard of Phantoom Powerboats???

The alli is broke and undergoing a resto so to say. Im looking at a 17' phantoom with a merc 135. Guy says it has run 60mph, looks like a clean little boat. I can pick it up for about $4300, thats boat, motor, and trailer. I guess I could put some 150 carbs on it, cut the heads and play with the timing and see what it will do. What do you guys think? Im looking for something to play with then sell when the alli is done. I do have a 260 laying around:reddevil:

If so they were made in england. my buddy had a 17 with a 115 mariner.....it did 55-60. I would not go over 150 max on that 17. the 21ft phantom is a far better boat. phantom and ring are or were the most popular HP boats in europe, but the US boats are way better:thumbsup:

I don't think he did a 17, although that's prob the only one he did't do!
I think it was 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 25, 28 & 31.

Trying to remember what they raced with 200hp - I "think" they raced the 18's with 200's in OCR.
