 Nice. oh and welcome to Scream and fly. Just cut the rope out. You should be able to get most of it out that way. After the next time out once you get the rope out if you have vibration or exesive cavitaion you may have bent the impeller. Its most likely wrabed up around your drive shaft and stuck on a blade of your impeller. Cut on boath sides of the impeller and after you have removed every thing and you still cant turn the impeller. Try to see were the little piece that may be wedged is and fray the piece with a sharp knife on the end of a stick going up threw the grate. you will see most of it from under there with a flash lite. Even a razor blade on the end of a stick to fray the rope softening it up then just turn her over and it should come out. I was going to sugest to get that last little one to burn it a bit with a torch? But you may have a felt seal close by there and you shouldnt do that if thats the case. It wont hurt the impeller because the rope will melt way before the blade gets to hot. The wear ring if its stainless should be OK and not scorned from a rope. A rock is a differant story. Im thinking you blades should be good also. If not no biggy. Just a pain to get it off and have it repaired for 100 bucks or so. i bent a Blade on my impeller once from a big rock that got wedged. I just took off the impeller and hammered it back to shape and was good to go for two more years.

I did that once on a jet ski. I used a knife and a razor knife, kept cutting little pieces off till I got it all out. Impeller was fine.

And welcome to the board.

there should be a cap on the intake of the pump that has two bolts, remove that cap and you should be able to reach the shaft by hand. Cut all the rope away from the shaft and you should be good to go.

wow thanks for the fast reply... but the problem I'm having is I cant see the rope to cut it.. I know it got sucked in because the broken rope from the innertube is much shorter than it was. I'm not sure how to get to my impeller... sorry I'm really a newbie... so much for some family fun on the lake...

Dont forget to do as Bushwacker said. Last thing you need is to have your hands up there and one of the kids turns her over! Like david said also there might be a clean out cap. This is so you can get weeds and ROPES cleaned out from in there.:D Hears a link. Look at the colour pics the first two. Yours should be the same sorta. Your impeller sits in a wear ring. Theres very little tolerance in there. Thats wear you may have rope squashed between. Its usually stainles so a rope might not have harmed things. The big bowl part of the jet is wear your impeller is located. Thats wear the two bolt cap that you remove should be located. The view in the pic is threw that clean out. Good luck and google your jet pup and study its componints. There real basic and durable for the most part. Gravel bottoms in shalow water and sticks off the bottom in shalow water are not there friends. Hands and feet around the intake can be sucked in also so make sure the engines off and all is clear from those areas before you fire her up. http://www.americanturbine.com/downloads/pdf/instructions/YJ_instructions.pdf Your clean out may be located in the back of the boat at the transom area were the bell housing meets the bowl? Because of the year?

Spend a lot of time reading this site in the link. Reconize your pump and learn all you can. http://www.berkeleyjet.com/
