HELLO TO ALL, I WAS WONDERING WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IN ORDER TO CONVERT A 2000 280 ROS TO A 300 DRAG MOTOR? THANKS. MIKE

well mike i am not an expert on this but to my knowledge you would have to chang the computer for starters. the fuel curve is different than the 280 and has 11k limiter as opposed to the 7750 limiter. second is the fuel pump. i don't know the exact amt. of pressure needed but the drag motors do have more fuel pressure than the 280s. you would also have to change the tuner and heads. a true drag motor has high compression heads that requires race fuel. as for the rod slots and exhaust chest being more modified, i am not certain. i am pretty sure the ports don't have to be cut. anyone else out there can correct me if i missed something.

All the information above is correct , if you want the drag sell your 280 and buy the drag the differences are internal also ( Sleeves port height ) and would cost a mint to convert the port timing and the electrics , flywheel ,brain , etc ......to convert your 8500 rpm 280 to the high rpm Drag.

Make that mota run a little different.....change all the electronics to 260 electronics.
