Finally,
We spent the early half of Saturday and went through all of the possible reasons for a rich idling 260. We even did a full compression and leakdown and had gotten no where.
Since I don't currently have a fuel pressure gauge we decided to quickly install one and check the pressure....A whopping 60 PSI to my supposed 39 psi regulator.
After further inspection we found that some master mechanic had taken his trusty socket and compressed the top of the regulator to increase the pressure to some unknown level. (60 psi)
Well, after a quick switch of regulators, my problem was solved. Sometimes the simple things get overlooked too quickly, oh well, I now have a much better idling 260.
Thanks to all that offer suggestions and tips and especially Allisoon Man who is my "works for beer" mechanic.
