I don't think there were many Vulture XT bottoms right? Looks to be pretty original too.

I think it is a vulture, Look @ the rear veiw, the wings go way out, as to the vegas they go down... It also has a rounded front windsheild, and raised area for top bar for windshield to attach behind front seats.... I'm pretty sure its a Vulture...

it is indeed a Vulture XT. Very few made until they experienced a small surge in popularity in 1989, then about 20 or so were built from 89 to 91.

with some bottom mods it sure will. handles chop better too. man that would be fun, put a core floor transom in it and some 3.0+L serious power. Frank moles runs 100+ with a mean 2.5 and so does George's (thehogg) with a simon 3.0 both xt's.. could be a nice practical fast boat :iagree:

JT, is the Vulture XT bottom exactly the same as a Vegas?
That would be a cool boat to have since I love he VKing type top. If I remember correctly I had a Vegas with those colors. I'm just always disappointed with the rough water ride in a stream after having gone bigger.

Another question, did they tweak a Vking deck or make a whole new deck for the 20 footer?

Love the seating, it's like a movie theater in that thing. The cockpit must be bigger than a Vegas, no?

:iagree: would be a great hull with some power (after its structurally sound) and it does look like its got more room then my vegas had

1) XT hull is exactly the same for Vegas, Vulture, Voyager, Venus
2) XT hull came out in 85. Vulture V came out in 1977. The deck was sectioned and lengthened from the Vector. Ron Baker did a lot of that work when he was at Stream.
3) Rough water XT ride sucks, no question about that. The standard V-bottom is much better and just as fast.

A Vulture XT seems wrong to me. Too much weight too far forward. But I've never seen one.

A Vulture XT seems wrong to me. Too much weight too far forward. But I've never seen one.Doesn't really seem to have the weight,if your talking about the windshield ,dashboard and where the driver sits, any further forward than most of your tunnel hulls, ie. stv's, mirages etc. But I have never seen one other than in pics. Just my observation.

I wonder if the forward cockpit makes it a better candidate for a heavier motor like a 300X or XS than the other XT boats?

being they took HUGE setbacks with the 200's of the day i dont see why a XS or a 300X with a new solid transom/ core would be ANY assue at all...

I think it would be a nice combo but once you drive a cat you never want to go back to anything else.
