I'm running a 1990 CMC Powerlift jackplate and the motor has played out. Can this be rebuilt? Is there a place where I can buy a new one? I can't seem to find anything on the CMC website for this year. This motor sits off to the side of the plate rather than inside.

CMC Jackplate-

My CMC PL-65 did the same thing last year. I talked to CMC and they no longer support the older model with the pump/motor mounted on the side of the plate. I ended up going with one of their new HS jackplates but it might not hurt to take your pump/motor to a local electrical shop and have them tell you if it can be rebuilt first. That's what I was going to do with my old one if I ever get around to it.

Best of luck with it...

I believe you can also take the pump off the side and use a standard trim-pump mounted inside the boat. I saw one on here for $75 with lines somewhere.

Hey same song second verse. After a lot of digging I found out the motor and pump are a Evenrude trim setup. You can get a brand new pump and motor or just the motor. I plan on moving mine into the boat and mounting on the transom and running new lines. Here's a couple of links to vendors with parts and such, http://www.arcomarine.com/, http://www.apimarine.com/, http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Rareelectrical__W0QQ_armrsZ1.
That last e-bay link had a two wire trim motor listed for $79 buy it now. Is yours a 2 or 3 wire motor?
Depending on what is wrong with yours, you can get brush cards from ARCO very reasonable. Hope that helps........

Hey trevrev97, the way I understand it the two wire motors will run one way when hooked up positive to positive and negative to negative. When the connections are reversed it will run the other way. The three wire motors actualy have a forward-reverse setup. The difference in the controls could be a lot of rewireing. So you would be ahead to get the three wire motor. Look in the ARCO catalog for the type motor that fits the way your motor looks and if there is any doubt give them a call. It could be like their 6204 or 6211 or 6213 or 6228 ect. They can tell you how to tell the difference, a lot of it boils down to the way it mounts to the pump and the way the wires go into the motor. Hope that helps........

there is a 2 relay setup you will need to convert to 2 wire from 3, all you really need is a mercury trim harness for a 2 wire trim pump, comes with 2 relays and leads, just shorten or extend as needed
