Most voters with a brain all know that promises are for the campaign trail and that once elected amnesia typically sets in. ;)
Unfortunately, then theirs all the brainless ones that vote. :nonod:

I didn't vote for him because he like the rest of the liberal democrats in control is a socialist, or communist I'm not sure.

I heard today there is 0% capitol gains tax in China, even for daytraders. Their stimulus package per GDP is three times as large as ours, then again they can afford it.

That's a loaded question, meaning it depends on where you live and what your write offs are. In NYC under the old higher clinton rates you could pay 60%, and if obama gets hisway it would be 64% on people making over 250K.

I love the news on Obama; "Those 9,000 earmarks are the previous administration's." (It's BUSH'S fault!)(and that makes it OK to break my rules)

And hear I thought bills were made by CONGRESS, especially EARMARKS.

What kind of moron do they think I am?:nonod:

Even better yet was Olberman saying "Cowboy Capitalism" got us in this mess. That must mean no democrat ever let mortgage standards drop, or let speculators into the energy market or constricted energy supply. Lets take a look at that....:icon_bs:

The people that caused this::leaving:;)
The media::confused::confused::confused:
Americans: :mad:
Obama & Pelosi: :D
Voice of reason:
Hmmm.

And the Carbon taxes, guess what that will do to us. I'm sure the government will tell us yet again that rising energy costs have no effect on inflation, yeah, yeah I can see that for sure....no effect on the economy either right....talk about insulting.:rolleyes: I am so amazed at all the talk about gas and energy tax increases, I guess nobody in government has ever had an econ101 or history101 class.

I'm glad nobody in this country who makes under $250,000/yr smokes. This seems to have went right under the radar as a tax increase Obama promised nobody would get. Not that smoking is good, but this is still another lie from Obama. Check out the RYO tax, it is like over 2,000% increase wow. Jan 20 to Feb 9, sure didn't take him long to go back on his word what less than 3 weeks? And another give-away for Illegals!

LOL, The idiots that run Michigan had a bill all wrote up to crank up cig taxes yet again $2 (because they will tax anything to kill this state and now want to crank up gas taxes) and now they are not sure what to do, they will be so expensive they know nobody here will buy them. They had a guy from Detroit Police on the news and he said he has only four people on contraband in Detroit area and he can't spare any more. A supplier said he hardly sells now, figures he will stop supplying tobacco products. They asked where they were buying it and he said he did not know, but of course everyone goes to Indiana. Michigan: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1524597/new_federal_tobacco_tax_means_michigan.html

If MI does the $2 that means a pack would be $8-9, near the same as a case of beer...or a dime bag, lol. I'm surprised MI does not legalize dope, they will kill their own Mother for $5 in tax revenue.

I should buy stock in a company that makes cessation products.

Obama Signs Federal Cigarette Tax Hike

President Barak Obama signed the Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, providing a major expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide health insurance to moderate-income families and illegal aliens.

This government handout is funded with an increased federal tobacco tax.

* Increase U.S. Federal Tax on a pack of cigarettes from $0.39 to $1.01 per pack
* Increase Federal tax on pipe tobacco from $1.0969 per pound to $2.83 per pound
* Increase Federal tax on RYO tobacco from $1.0969 per pound to $24.78 per pound
* Increase Federal tax on cigarette papers (50 or less) from $0.0122 to $0.0315
* Federal tax on cigarette tubes (50 or less) = $0.0244 - New rate is $0.0630
