I'm in the process of replacing both upper and lower motor mounts. Is there a torque specification for tighting them? These are stock mounts.
thanks
If it is not a Hi-Performance Motor (ie 2.5 260), the torque is 50 ft. lbs. for both upper and lower mount bolts. These specs for a standard Merc V-6. I assume it's a standard V-6.
If it is a 2.5 Hi-Po with one piece plate, the torque is 120 ft. lbs for both upper and lower mount bolts.

No, it's a plain old 2.5 fishing motor that I'm trying to breath some new life into. Thanks for the info.

Hello, what I do is cut 1/8th of an inch off the back end of the inner portion of the upper mount so the washer bottoms out earlier, that way the rubber lasts longer. It's the poor man's solid mounts.
