I found an 84 sonic ss in my area, I was wondering does anyone know if they are good.
1. 24 ft
2.twin johnsons can't tell the power
looks nice, but it is like brown or black with orange high lights and orange accents in the interior
3.cuddy looks nice also matches in color scheme
4.comes with props

25 year old boat. make sure the wood used in floor, stringers and transom are not rotten. If possible have it checked with a moisture meter.

All the Sonics I have seen are built like tanks, very strong boat , none of that deck flexing when pounding over big swells.

2nd one. Great boats over all and near impossible to beat for size/money/power and best cabin in the market.

Weak link is lack of support at transom. If boat has been run much as most have, it will either have cracks and or repairs (probably both) at the transition of the side deck to deck over transom.
They tried to use the rear seat base as transom knees and they failed miserably. That too will either be lose,cracked or repaired.
Also look in the V-berth storage hatches. The bulkheads will be broke loose where they were tabbed to the inside of hull.

Not to mention, they are not a very fast hull, considering the power, compared apples to apples, to other boats.
