It runs over 117mph, and very easy to drive!

Another old thread resurected.

I was amused to see that when this thread started my HydroStream was still metal flake and ModVP powered. Changes and more changes.
Some things don't change. I'm still on Rice Lake.
Here's a couple of pictures how my boating equipment has changed since this thread was young.

Welcome Toybox and Scott2,

TB,, Yeah those where the days hangin' at Ironsides's shop... (any news on Jim ?) I am sure I have pics somewhere of your AE sitting in his shop. Nice Rigs.

Scott...have you tried a cleaver or ET prop on your rig yet...you should be able to spin a 30" ET no problem...BTW...nice setup with the 200XS...did you buy that recently?

PBCC (Performance Boat Club of Canada) is the boat club you are thinking of. It still exixts, we are just trying to find viable insurance coverage...what else is new in performance boating;)

sounds like there r a lot of us into fast rides in Canada! Too bad about the clubs ins probs...im in the car biz & I see it every day!

Anthony..thanks for the warm welcome...everyone her has been great in helping out this "green pea" I bought the boat from Jeff at H20. The prev owner had a 260 on it I think & either it was stolen or blew it up. The 200xs is a great motor...awsume low end, but I could use more speed as I get use to it (in time hahah). Right now, its the perfect boat for the cottage..all around.

I have not had an opportunity to try out another prop yet...lookin for donors! The prev owner said I should be able to get low 90's out of it no probs with the 30 et...Im curious about a cleaver as well...which should I get for an all out speed prop? do I have to raise the engine?...thanks

anyone going up to the old boat show this wekend in Gravenhurst?

Scott, Your boat sounds like one that was owned by Mike B. I was aware that he put a 200XS on it yes after the 260 detonated. I did not know he sold it...it would be the same boat if you have an SS on it and tandem trailer. If so that boat was originally Mark M's rig...VERY Nice Rig;)

Someone should be able to let you try a 30ET , I only have a 24ET,

The cleaver will be nice to but may not be great with a load in the boat.

Have you visited STVowners.com yet?

Lots of good Euro setup info there;)

Rampager, I was out on my Dads boat on Sunday, we just cruised by Big Chief, sure was alot of boats there.

scott2

Yes Anthony you have the right boat! short shaft & hustler trailer. I was looking at the blue euro on rice lake that did 115mph in the spring, but just missed out on it...then this one came up so I jumped on it....I liked the fact it still had engine warr on it & thank god it did because 2 weeks after I got it, the tensioner pulley broke & threw the compresser belt off!

I was on Muskoka & the guys at new Ark Marina were awsume in getting the merc reps involved right away & had me back on the water in no time!

I think Mike had a 30" et on it at one time....but it came with the Mazco...im really happy with the whole pkg & hope to see some of you guys on the water!

AnthonySS
07-06-2006, 10:46 AM
YEAH ...I think you're correct regardng the 30ET Mike ran on it. I believe he said he could touch 100 with that setup.:)

My friend Chuck bought the one from Rice L...it rocks too and has been an awesome package. I have had it out once:D

NICE FIND...ENJOY and let me know if I can assist you with setup;)

scott2
07-06-2006, 11:02 AM
ya i was so mad I lost out on that boat...it was around easter i think & both of us had other things on ...then your friend got to it before I had a chance to get up there...but im happy I got the newer hull even if it dosnt touch 115! (yet...hahahahah)...and to think my wife wanted a bowrider..what was she thinking!

Friends of ours have invited us to Rice this summer & told us 3rd bay is the place to be when we come up.....ill let ya know when we r in the area.
Cheers & thanks Again!

Scott, if you make it up to Chief, you can try my 30 Spinelli DR4. I don't know if its right for an STV but its more pitch than your 27.

For that matter, it it were calm, I'd like to try the 27.

We should be back at the lake on the 29th. My wife work's the Saturday of the long weekend. I may make the trek solo.
