Just putting this out to see if anyone is going. We have a few of us that will put in at Lake Eustis, run down the lake and go thru the Dora Canal. Then thru Lake Haris to Traveras (Mt Dora) where the boat show is. There are 5 lakes (Harris Lake Chain) that interconnect thru different canals that makes for a nice ride. The dates are March 26th thru the 29th. Here are a few picts from a couple of yrs ago

Should be a good show.
The weekend before there is an antique race boat show in the same area!
Stop by if you get a chance.

Ok here is a map of the area for the Regatta. We plan on going March 28th meeting at the ramp at about 10-11am (flexable). If anyone knows of another ramp please post it. It is one of the largest shows around. The ride thru the Dora Canal is worth the trip (idle speed only thru the Dora Canal).

not only is it fun, but the jersey speed skiff guys are fun to punk on while they are out punking on everything else on the lake. Don't get me wrong, I love those boats and the guys that drive them are a special kinda crazy like us, but they just need to remember there is always someone faster and stick to racing the car motor boats. :reddevil:

Isn't the show the next weekend according to the flier that Fish posted? Either way I'm up for a day trip....
There are other ramps in the area, I don't know how to post the map, but Hickory Point Park has a multiple lane launch ramp and plenty of parking, it is on SR19 on the north side of the bridge where it crosses over Little Lake Harris. Also have Buzzard Beach Ramp, but it can get busy this time of year with tournaments, it is on 441 about 1/2 mile west of the Dora Canal.

My Brother-in-law has an old Sheppard wooden antique. He keeps it in pristine condition. I towed that boat for a couple hundred miles for him once and to be honest, I've seen topless women get less attention that that boat was getting. I even had people running up to knock on the windows of the truck while I was at a stoplight just to ask me how old the boat is.

Well let's go with what was posted earlier....
Saturday the 28th.....10ish at the ramp posted on the map, on the east side of Lake Eustis..... I'll be there, just look for the ol slow bassboat...:D
As far as hotels, not sure what is in the area.....I know there is a place called "Inn on the Green" or something like that in Eustis that is supposed to be pretty nice...

Ok guys sorry for the slow reply but been out of town on business. The date and time are the same. Plan is to ride to the show maybe run to a couple of lakes after then on the way back stop off at Harbor Side Resturant and get something to eat then back to the ramp. I have up dated the map with a few more ramps if anyone's interested. You can google for the addresses of the ramps. The ramp at Eustis doesn't have an address but it is just south of town on Lakeshore Dr. If anyone launches from another ramp we can all meet at the entrance of the Dora Canal at 11:30ish or meet at the show. You can reach me at 904-315-8822 if you need any other info. As far as for parking at the show there is a couple of beaches that the Jersy Skiffs park at. Most of the docks are taken up by the boats in the show. NEWTZ_STREAM glad to see you can make it. Awsomebullet maybe I can draft you and keep up with everyone else :D.

Well a few of us made it in the water. The show was great. The wind wasn't bad on the Eustis side ut was blowing on the Doa side by the show. Didn't get to make it t oall the lakes but the ride and weather was great. Meta few of the people from here at the show and was nice seeing them again. One highlight on the show was the amphib cars. After they paraded around the park the crowd lined up to watch them splash in the water. The louder the crowed yelled the faster they went in.They had on entry from Louisiana that in true fashion would have made T-REX proud.

My God, it that a bald spot in the back of my head? This is getting ridiculous!:leaving: It was good to see John, Lisa, Carl and Wendy. It was good to get out and back on the water. The floating dock walk around with John and Lisa was too much fun, hanging on all the way from falling over with the wind and waves blasting us... Then the cars splashing into the lake was the bomb...I've never seen that before! :D See ya.

Rich that was on the Ockawaha River off the St. Johns by Welaka. We took it as far as Hwy 19 from the St Johns and you can go further. Just another place to explore. Hugging the lilly pads around the corners was sooooooooooooooo cool
