The boat and trailor are probably worth around 6k to 7k bassed on what like boats are selling for so just find out what an 06 225 e-tec is worth and you have it.

That low deck version is no longer made so you cannot get a direct comparison but - call Wildman and find out what a new 21 Liberator rigged like that Eliminator would set you back.
Assuming that the boat is what he says it is, 17k looks pretty good next to the 45+ you would have to spend on a new boat.
His only problem will be finding someone with the cash as no bank will finance that kind of money on a 30 year old boat.

,but with an '85 300 hp V8. Torque is nice, but an old motor. I paid $10,300 with a very fancy three axle trailer--but steel. Alas, trailer didn't last three years. If you boat in salt, aluminum is a big plus.
That 225 sure ups the value over mine by a lot, but it is sitting on a 23 year old hull. I think he is high. Sad, but putting money into an old boat you love doesn't necessarily increase the value as much.
I really don't have a good handle on the real output of a modern 225 vs an old V8, but we are just shy of 90 with no hydraulic jackplate and a need to go up a little.
By the way, for those of us who shop in the very used market, I don't see the relevance of the comparison to a new boat. But I bet a Wildman prepared Liberator 21 with a new Merc 225 would set you back a lot more than $45,000. It would be worth it--just can't go there.
I would say, though, for a virtually identical hull, the extra freeboard on a post '95 Liberator 21 would be really nice to have.

Looks pretty damn well cared for and clean. And with 4 years of warranty left on the motor I'd say it'd be a fair buy around 16-16.5k.

For not much more, you could buy that 96 Rapid Craft Twister 22 with the 300X that's listed on here.
