What should my ohm reading be on my TPI. Engine is 1986 2.4 BP.

Per Mercury:
50 to 150 ohms with the throtle closed
2000 ohms WOT
Same if its one of our TPI's

For some reason this got posted twice, the problem is with the meter at 50 to 150 ohms it runs terrible, now down to about 15 ohms it runs great, could I be testing wrong or is tpi bad or something else wrong?

I don't mean to be insulting but are you sure you are reading the meter right. What do you have is set at. If it’s set on the 1K a reading of 15 could really be 150. Set the meter at 1 ohm.

I will double check today, the meter is suppose to be auto ranging.

On some meters the lowest range is 1K.
