Does anyone know if a 250 ox66 ecu will go on a 200 ox66? If so where would I find one?

depends on what you are trying to do

It is a '99 200 3.1L. Was told if I changed the cdi, carbon reeds and exhaust tuner that would bring it up to about 250hp. Any thoughts?

sounds about right

I dont see how you would get 50hp from just that. The 200 225 and 250 use different part number pwrhds which probably means different porting.

I guess no one has tried this? I also heard that changing the heads to the 250 would also pep it up. wouldn't that be the same as shaving the oem set? How much to shave? .05 .07 and still run pump gas?

Hmm...I think it may take a little more work to get to 250. Looking at the fiche the blocks are different (as expected...they are ported much differently), Reeds/cages are different, heads and ignition is different. The exhaust divider, tuner and throttle body are the same though. If it were me I'd spend my money on heads and reeds...

The rods are different as well.......

Who has the best over all reeds? Would you shave the oem or purchase aftermarket?

I think TDR has the best reeds and if you can find the spec you can have your heads cut or buy a set of cut heads from Hydro-tec or keep an eye here and on ebay for a set of used 250 heads.

'99 3.1l ox66 Also just checked w/ TDR and they don't have the reeds for my model but can make them.

Also are you referring to stock 250 heads as being higher compression? If I shaved the heads how much should come off?

Ok, I tried crossing part numbers on the 250/200 head gaskets. When the head gaskets matched the heads were also the same. I'm going to need some help here. If you or anyone else know the part numbers or year of the 250 heads that go on the '99 ox66 v200tlrx can you point me in the right direction? I'm a little confused now.

66X-11111-00-94 HEAD, CYLINDER 1 - Head from your 200
61A-11181-A1-00 GASKET, CYLINDER - Head Gasket...the same for both engines
62J-11111-01-94 HEAD, CYLINDER 1 (changes to 62J-11111-01-1S) - Head from a 250

The heads changed slightly in 2000, hense the new part number but all of them will fit. I don't know the nature of the change. I'd do some research and find out how much you can cut your stock heads before I bought (brand) new heads. Someone must have an idea!!

250 vmax heads defineatly will be a big bump, may have to reset tps a little richer base, tell me if you can your exhaust port height and comp you have right now before cutting heads, hydro tech has reeds for you and can cut your heads, keep us posted you can make big reliable power from that motor:rolleyes:

back to your original question,I'VE tried several ecu, swithout noticing a differance:(.I'm not familiar with a 200 3.1,but give me some spec's and I will cross ref what I have for you:D

Not sure aboout the port height but it is stock. as far as compression I am running between 101 -105 across the board. Not sure what it should be, everything is factory on thos engine. Was wondering it the compression was low and should I re-ring when I tear down for the heads.
