I've always thought of organized sports as the Mind Drug of the Masses. Likened to the arena's of Rome.
Amazing how little comment this post received, the drug works!

When was the last time anybody heard of a stadium, ball diamond, golf coarse, or nascar track being built without TIF money? Funny I've never heard of a rodeo arena getting tax payers money. Maybe the PBR association should hire some lobbyists. :D

All this is mere peanuts compared to the "bailout" scam, and the coming "carbon credits" trading.

:iagree:
"Carbon credits" trading. Wow! Now there is another biggie. I've read a little bit about this. Maybe you could try to educate some of the nah sayers here.
Funny how the media isn't reporting who's getting how much of the bailout money and what they are buying with our tax money ( consolidations & acquisitions of other banks )!!! Why is that! HHMMMMMMM I guess the government/corporate media thinks we're all dumb as a bucket of hammers! Sad part is some are, or just refuse to believe anything unless spoon feed it from the media. Dah!

Derivatives are bigger then all of the above put togeather.
Good piont, but think about this once. Durring nascar speedweek last year, I counted over 26 teams that were sporting one of the armed forces as a major sponcer for their race teams. In a later nascar news program it was said that to be a major sponcer on a cup car the cost was some 11 million per team. Up to 7 million per team for the former bush teams and at the very lest 5 million for craftsmen truck teams:eek: Than of corce you get the fly overs of fighter jets before each and every event. Oh and dont forget the color gaurd who are also paid by us tax payers to be at a sporting event that alot of us tax payers just cant get to if we wanted to. I have not heard of any young person join the arm forces because of this "recruiting effort", have you?:icon_bs: Than at the same time you have goverment crying that we need more money to fight a war that one really knows why we are fieghting it in the first place:reddevil:
As a tax payer I find it troubling that the millionair playboys can go have a good time on my tax dollars, cause lord knows I'm not aloud to:nonod: Just my thoughs And please dont cheat on your taxes guys like Dale Ernhart Jr are depending on you weather you like it or not!!!!!!!!!!:cheers:
