Wierd (wired) Problem

1981 115 Johnrude, std setup. When either trimming up or down while under way, tach drops to zero, trim indicator jumps
around . I know its somewhere in the wiring, any ideas on where to start?

I'd check all connections between the hull and motor, also look for chafed or broken wire anywhere the wire may move during the trim operation. It may be something other than this, but eliminate the simple stuff first and move forward from there.:cool:

Sounds like something is not grounded very well. Go through and check your gauge grounds first, I bet you find it.
