Jeff Baker and myself worked all day a week ago Friday to help my sons boat be a little better, his XR6 150 on his LTV would only run14.4 @73 MPH. We are racing KDBA bracket races in the 13 second class for RIcky, after all this hard work here is a picture of the results, Jeff a BIG thanks again.

Jeff helped our team out last year at Moose Lake along with just about everyone else. He knows his stuff and is willing to share his knowledge with others! Next time Jeff remember the suit case before leaving... (last race he left without bringing his suitcase) At least he remembered the boat...

Thanks. I know Jeff really enjoys doing that stuff and to see almost a 2 second and 10-12 mph increase is even better than I thought would come of it. 87 MPH for a 150 in the quarter ain't too shabby!
Great job of driving too. Since this was the first time he had to be concerned about breaking out, to go out and win is quite an accomplishment. Great job.
For anybody who has never tried this kind of racing, I am highly recommending it. If you have a boat that can go 80 mph or faster, you most likely can go out and race. No engine or boat rules, so you don't have to worry about inspections and you don't have to have cutting edge equipment to be competitive. Just be consistent. You'll also learn more about setup at one of these events than you will in 5-10 years of recreational boating. Weight, propping, engine height, all play a huge role in adjusting your bracket speed and time.

Liqui-Fly,
Yep its a real 150 2.5 XR6 and like Sam said only bolt on no INTERNAL work (yet) and we aren't even running the small gearcase, its a 200 Bobs coned case. I think the smile says it all.

When you and Ricky get checks does your sponsor get any of that back or do the drivers get to keep your winnings? I bet it was great having the entire Conklin racing family at the race.
CAN NOT WAIT 'TIL OTTAWA. I'm dying to run this boat.

About my Cadillac version of the LTV with the 260 that is only running in the high 70's right now. Once my bug is found I don't expect much more than the low 80's. Hmmm....I think I'll pick up some Sawzall blades on the way home.

Hollywood Nick Winski's Cadillac version (complete with windshield, etc.) would run about 100 with his stock 260.

I mean the Stratos 20 footer....but that's encouraging....I'm on a 5 step program to weight loss which begins with my water logged sponsons. Then the ski locker, ect ect.

Oh, you mean the Cadillac El Dorado? Oh I see. There is a difference. However, that boat should be more than capable of hitting upper 90s. Sounds to me like the boat needs a good going through as you mention. I would say a new bottom (coring is probably waterlogged and the bottom is "powerhooking" when you go fast).

When I first got her I removed a ton of foam from the stern and never figured it would be wet up front too. Well I did some exploratory poking and prodding and it is. If the core in this hull turns out to be bad too I'm gonna throw it in the dumpster and find and actual LTV. Just love my glitterflake though.
