I am over the election , and I think if something were to happen it would bring chaos . BUT while I am having a positive outlook , I am not on anyones payroll , I make my own money and it is a "world of Shizzit " out there right now for what I do . all this "economic stimulus " BS is just that BS . Any stimulus money will be spent to pay down debt , not stimulate the economy . I personally disagree with a lot of his philosophy, but keep in mind that it is the philosophy of only one man. It takes thousands of men and women in this country to make any effective (good or bad) change.
Yes , he is in a position to influence to the politicos and more importantly, the big $ that runs this country,but unless he is able to win over the votes of our lawmakers who answer to their financial supporters ( big $ again ) , nothins gonna happen. More of the same will occur.

The party lasted for a very long time and lotsa folks made good $$. Its just the same economic cycle occuring that has happened many times before and will happen again.
Some of us will suffer heartily and some not so much, but, the economy will improve and we all will be buyin boats , motors and parts again at prices that r way too high.

Like I said, I'm just doing my very best to maintain a decent attitude about it. Thats it. There is another side to this, though who knows how much weight it has: There is a LOT of pressure on Obama to do some good stuff. He might live up to it, if not a lot of people (65% in poll I just saw thought he would do above average as prez) will be disappointed.

I'm getting to the point where I think they are only doing this stimulus thing to make people think it will fix the economy....they either can't or don't care about the issues that really affect us. Here a guy on the tube is saying they will give money to states to pay off their health care costs, and the other guy says that is not right they are just like GM they need to deal with legacy costs and healthcare costs not get paid off. But we can all see the government policy of paying off losers is strong today. They should give a few billion in bonuses to the SEC. It would be bad to pay any winners money, I mean who would want to pay someone to say, build a new air control system that saved a lot of air fuel and people's time waiting, etc. Nah, keep on using the 1960s one that we have. One guy did suggest more broadband, seeing how that could be good for the country I doubt they will.

I really think the whole issue will come down to how Obama deals with all the deadbeat losers running the government, and how many he gets rid of or replaces.
