Yeah, there were two of us running our 25' Powerplays. One of them is all White with Opti's, and the other has Powerplay on the side with Blue,Yellow, and Black graphics with ProMax 300's. What boat were you running?

We ran against the all white one with twin 225 Opti's...... we were in a 27 Concept....purple graphics..... we were beat by a couple mph's...... was wondering what props they were running.... we have a pair of 27 Mirages tipping 72 mph......

I'm not sure which props he was running, he seems to have a new trick up his sleeve every time we go out!!

What motors are you running?

We are running a pair of 2004 225 Opti's with stock gearcases running right at the limiters.... I know we can go higher with the motors, but we are at the top of the adjustments now. To go higher, we will have to raise the bracket.... The boat was delivered with the motors way too low, had the factory raise the bracket and we went from 55 mph to 68 mph. We did a few tweaks with the props and sanded the wetted surface of the boat and now get 72 out of her. We are trying to keep her so she can carry 8 people or so and still run high speeds when light. Surfacing props are not an option for us since we want to keep it multi-use friendly. We would still like to find a couple more MPH's and we think the Simon flywheels wil do it.

We think we would have stayed up with that Power Play if we didn't have the arch, the Concept is about 500 pounds heavier and the wind drag from the arch hurts us.

nice to hear from you.... hope to meet up for a few brews and some good times

That was you?

What work do the 27's have? What gearcases are you running?

I can move the limiters and lighten the flywheels and you will gain at least 2 MPH.

SillyBilly- Did you ever try Bravos on your rig? Do you think Mirages are faster?

Thanks-

Yeah, you and I spoke on the phone about this one..... we will definately try those flywheels and possibly the ECU's. At 2600#'s (plus motors and gear), this is a very light boat for these motors and we are shooting for upper 70's if possible on sub props. As soon as the warranty expires in April, we will be doing more tweaks..... Would love to find some bravo's and other props to try down here.

When you sanded the bottom did you see that much of a difference? What grade sandpaper did you use? What did you use to do it? Block sander?

I've been curious about doing that to mine.

We didn't do a real thorough job on it, used 120 on a block with it on the trailer (strakes didn't get sanded), we picked up 1.5 - 2 MPH. We will soon do it with a mini D/A complete. Before we were seeing 68 -69 consistant, now we see 70 sometimes 72. We really need another 1/2 inch on the motors, but will have to raise the bracket for that.
