Hey S. Fla guys, I'm planning to rent a cabin on Lake Placid for a week in April and wonder if any of you guys boats there? I haven't been there since I was a teenager when we came to lake Grassy for water skiing vacations. Bringing the Viper and the Electraglide, Lord willing.
Anybody got experience on that water?

Theres some local S&F guys around there - maybe they'll chine in. They did a small run there last summer on Lake June in winter I think. Beautiful water up there.

Its a pretty area. We vacation just north of there in Sebring on Lake Jackson every year, though I've never been on the water in Lake Placid.

Water levels have been high since the storms early this year.

One of these days I'm going to put in at the north end of Lake Istokpoga, there is a neat little creek that opens into the big lake.

lake placid is one of my favorite spots.the old lakeshore resort has been remodeled in the last few years.its a quiet, relaxing lake/area.the launch nearest the highway is usually well kept and unpopulated,it offers no facilities as far as i know.town is close but not too close.the lake is near the freight train tracks, and as freight trains go can be a late night visitor.with very little light pollution in the area, the night sky is entertaining.

for the completion and powering of the Vandal. Matt is doing virtually all of it, and right now has several irons in the fire. I think still in the air as to whether it is an EP boat for the resurrected OPC class with a 3 cylinder OMC or a playtoy with a small 6.
