Aight got a question for some of you audio gurus. I installed a radio with 4 speakers in a my old Mirage. I sold that boat and now have a Quartershot. I would like to install a similar setup but dont want to cut holes or permantly install a sound system. Wantin to put something in that can easily be removed when I want to drag race.

As far as the radio I was thinkin get a car radio, install it in a boat case and use the extra heavy duty velcro to hold the base on. Then it'll just pull out when I want it to.;)

The speaker thing I aint got such an idea for. Not sure where to put em that could be easily took in and out. With the way I'm wantin to do it they'll have to go in boxes since there not mounted in the bulk heads. Dont want to lay em in the sponsons beacuase if for some reason water did get in there I dont want to fry em.

I'm thinkin a flip screen cd player and either 2 -5 1/4s and 2-6x9s OR 4-6x9s OR 4-5x7s Or well ya get the point.:smiletest:

Let me know what ya got or what ya think would work.

Thanks.

David

Hell yes that will work. The only problem he might have is holding it up on his shoulder while he's driving.

I am in the process of mounting a car stereo in a wooden enclosure to mount under my kitchen cabinet. The enclosure should be done today or tomorrow I'll let you know how it works out when finished.

I use 6 x 9's and I put them in boxes that came from Walmart, already assembled, with carpet on them.

I leave enough wire on them so that I can put them on the hatch when I am on the beach, or put them in the floor facing me when I sit in the back seat, or I put them on either side of me if I am sitting in the front seat.

Then I have a 10" sub at my feet, just behind the hot foot.

How about using an Ipod instead of a head unit?

Waterwings I like your thinkin.;) I did that with an ol truck before so I could pull them out and put on top of the cab if we were sittin around a fire.

The ipod thing would be fine with me but I'm not gonna use an amp so no may of tiein it in that I know of.

Not lookin for a lot of base just something so I can listen to something if on a long boat ride or sittin on the sand bar.

Here's the Redneck kitchen radio. The box matched perfect and radio sounds great. JVC HD reciever with Pioneer component speakers.

put a small amp inside the speaker box with a cig plug on it to power it then plug you MP3 into that.....Just put the thing someplace safe so it doesn't kill you when you act up..........

WHEN I feel I want to drag a stereo along in my STV, I've rigged up a stereo in a bag...

It consists of an iPod, DC/AC 300w inverter and a computer stereo system. This logitech Z-2300 system is flat amazing for what it is. Bought this one off craigslist for $60. Paid $20 at Wal-Mart for the bag. Total weight, less than 20#.

how about an old school "kicker box" to add some real thump!! mount the amp on the rear and the stereo on the top (best with a little remote control) and stuff it inder the bow, just leave a power hookup and it is all self contained

I think you'd be suprised at how much thump this 10" computer speaker has. Run down to your local computer mega-wharehouse and look for the Z-2300. It rocks!

Just a small kicker box with an amp on it. just use an ipod or other media player (mp3 cellphone) and run the headphone jack right to the rca on the amp. you can get an adapter wire from radio shack. no need to wire up a stereo.
