Almost any picture program will re-size them. I use my cameras program now. Don't have any links handy but try a search on google.com for freeware graphics.

Good luck.

Hey Mr. Mac,
I'd be glad to, but this thing just wont go thru since I went back to MSN. I e-mailed it to myself just to test it. It came back undeliverable. MSN sucks!

I went to the web site and its still a free download.

Just do a web search for the exe file listed below. Its a small program and doesnt take long to download even with dial-up.

Try it. Works great!

i'll try to figure it out. most of the pics i have on disc are anywhere from 3 to 6 million bytes. don't understand how those can be shrunk down to 200000. when you do it are you physically shrinking the pic. maybe i'll e-mail a pic to one of you to see if you can do it.

In the program I mensioned, you choose file, open your photos from "my documents" or where ever you have them, open the photo you want to resize, hit "image", click on resize, and choose the size you want. Large photos shrink perfectly. Small ones blow up pretty well but will blur if you go too large. Press file, save as, and youre done.

I wish I could e-mail it to you. Tell all your friends NOT TO GET MSN internet access.

if you will go to www.snapfish.com they will send of everything you need so that you will not have anything to worry about in the future when it comes time to do it again, you'll know what I'm talking about once you go to the site.

I'm not sure if all photo softwares will do this, but, if I go: file, save as, I click on the advanced or more button, in that window it will allow me to adjust the file size, not the picture size!

If you need to change the actual picture size, then you'll need to resize it.

The resolution is being lowered, gets more fuzzy or uses less dots thing.
The pixel size is also being changed-the dots. Any thing larger than your screens pixel use is a waste if your not scrolling to see the whole picture. Mine is still 640 across. So if you go from like 1200 down to 640 and use a medium or low resolution save, the picture size can dramaticly shrink. Just reducing the pixel size will drop it but since its smaller you don't need as high a resolution. Like watching a 10" TV compared to a big screen.

Earl,
You can crop. That is an option you may have to activate. I went to options and checked the crop box and the toolbar suddenly had "crop" listed. I havent used it yet though.

Try this as a rule of thumb 72 DPI at 4"X5" save as a .jpg seems to work good for this board.
When you save as a .jpg the file is compressed further so the file will load faster.
Remember if you scan a picture, to scan at a higher resoulution 300DPI (more information) then cut the res down to 72DPI and you will get more detail, this does not work in reverse as you can't add info to a file that is already digitized.
Also Photoshop rules the imaging world get a copy if you can.
Sorry for the long post just the rantings of an over worked prepress operator ;)
