As most of you know, and if you didn't, the ECDBA and ODBA ( listed in alphabetical order) has both started up a "Green" class. there are 3 people from my area, that will be competing in the class. and was wandering if any other people are interested, and will be joining us in what will be a great class to compete in next year. Thank you to the ECDBA and ODBA (again ABC ) for providing a great class for us to race in.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Please keep this thread on track, We all need to pull together, in such trying economic times, to try and grow the sport, keep this thread a positive one, and hopefully an informative one.

Is any one testing? results? Greg will bring his Venom with a 300 X S on it, and I might bring a Venom with a 175 Pro X S Do you think it will hang with the weight advantage? They are talking 125 lb. WOW I can not wait!!!!

Get ready to come out and support the ECDBA and ODBA ( ABC ) :) The racing season is just around the corner:):) I know that there may be other orgs. that have the same type of class, and did not leave them out on purpose, These are the two clubs that I will be racing with next year, Let me know who is planning on coming out to race with me, and what kind of rig you will run.
Merry Christmas,

Phillip it was nice meeting and your wife and can't wait for next year i think we'll have a great season (as long as the ecn. gets right) but that is something we can't control we're working on our schedule now and we'll have it ready right after the first of the year we have a few new sites this year and some of our old sites as well, but i think that the new green class will be big hit because there are a lot of those motors out there, if you come up with anything else just give me a shout, just remember that everyone if welcome to come race with the ODBA if it is in thr new green class or a class that we already have so lets all get together and lets just boat race. thanks alot ODBA Pres Shane Stovall

ECDBA has a link under racers hangout, that Joe listed with all the rules including the new greenhouse class, with weight limits and horsepowers also.
Also to help promote this new class we need a cool name for it, lets hear some ideas from the guys on this site. Good luck to Phillip and all the other new racers. This class will go through alot of changes since this new to everyone , but I think its a challange we can handle. I have had several calls in the past few weeks with alot of intrest so it looks very good for the Green house class. Thanks Jeff Dunn Pres of ECDBA. 843 222 9498

Jeff i think Phillip and his buddy wanted it called green class racingWe believe that when we say, or hear "green" we think Environmentally friendly, and that to me says what the motors in the class are, Whatever it is called, I am OK with it  but I vote Green class, and I think people, and the media will pick up on it quicker, and easier,:) I just want to race.

It is, and will stay "Emissions Performance Stock" in the ECDBA. As far as the media goes, the ECDBA is in partnership with the XTRM Sports Network (http://www.xtrm.com/web/index.aspx) for the 2009 season and beyond. They like the name. More details to follow about this exciting new development....

there was more to this class than just one meetings worth of discussions,I tried a couple years ago to get a stock type class, there was no interest, so in order to race, we had to play with the big boys, and didnt do too bad, there was some marketing research into the name, and this was the concensus of what to call it, any other club can call it what they want ,Im beggining to think noone realizes the effort put into doing this, we need to see what happens as far as participation to move to the next level, right now in order to have any new blood in racing this is the way to go, so lets not waste the time discussing the little stuff, lets get guys into the sport, Joe i assume that the xtrm guys like this idea, or u wouldnt have got them on board.I dont think the chronological order of how things get presented is something that needs to be explained, its just the way it is.............lets just go have some fun

Well I guess my post last night about a new name for the class was wrong, after a talk with the other memebers this morning they brought it to my attention that we had already agreed on the name . The guys are working real hard to make this class a success. The deal with XTRM Sports was just oked and I didnt realize its was a done deal until thismorning. Jeff:thumbsup:

None of the very many people Brett and I talked to over the last year and a half have liked "Green" in the name. We all know what "Green" means in our context, they don't.

You would assume correctly

Yea, this kinda ruined the surprise;) I'll post up some details for discussion later.

Jeff:thumbsup:Your post is the one I was posting on about the name, Sorry about that, I thought it was open. I do need rules clarification about what qualifies the motor for the EPS class, Is it the California star rating? If so how many stars? I am looking forward to learning more about the XTRM deal, I hope it brings out a lot of new competitors.

So we know what the Ecdba is calling it, and what the rules are. let see posts from people who are planning to come out and race with us, what does every body think the HP, and rig combo, will be, that will do good in the EPS class?

I will be in an area tomorrow that my cell doesn't pick up well, The Verizon network is scared to go there.
it all sounds good, next year will be great.

Perfect timing I would think too.
Yeah times are tough but you're going to attract pleasure/performance boaters as opposed to race only guys.
Would think the race guys may miss more racing as their boats are single purpose Vs pleasure guys still making payments regardless and want to play.

Good job guys. I'll be watching.
