Found this in a 350 Verado release article:

The Verado 350 SCi was engineered by Mercury Racing, but will be sold as a standard Mercury outboard, which means any Mercury dealer or boat-building partner can order the motor, which will cost about $29,000.

Well, there are other boats besides the 20 ft rockets in the world..

I have been running the 350 SCI on my Yellowfin 24 bay boat now since October 2007.I was a field tester for one of the first motors. The guys at Yellowfin nick named my boat the Fin Zilla..

Love the motor.. Smooth Gutsy and great fuel economy. Merc Racing definitely put the extra where it was needed to bolster up the Verado Platform in terms of stronger. I know the tolerances were brought tighter and the super charger is a bit different. RPM's are pretty high too, almost 7k.

My T and E motor has about 600 hours on it with No issues..

Just my .02 for those that may have been interested..

That `s all good but how does it compare performance wise with a 300 two stroke on your Yellowfin.

Bud Lorow, who is the man in charge for testing and rigging at Cigarette, says the 350 has it all over the other Verados..Not only in power, but throttle response and smoothness, and fuel mileage..He told me he doesn't like the 300 very much..I would love to have a pair..
I guess you could break down the cost from 32 to 38 dollars a pound..
(is that more or less than weed?)

Yes would love to here, if performance is better then the 300xs asking because of the weight diffrence.

Hey Guys, Our marina is roughly 45minutes from the Mercury Plant in Fon du Lac, so we have alot of the Big Wigs that have cottages by us....Well I found 1, this is the only 2008 Mercury Racing 350hp Verado "MAIL BOX", Dudes this thing kicks ass up close, its literally the real deal has all the right decals etc..just no powerhead....Im finding out who it is so I can try and sell him a 300 E-TEC, ha ha ha ha, na seriously though, not for your guys applications on Scream and Fly, but the Verado has always been a Killer Tritoon Pontoon motor, Ranger 620-621 Walleye Boat Motor, or Offshore......But this 350 has to be killer for big heavy boats.....http://http://pic.photobucket.com/spacer.gifwhat the hell, I did the pic on photobcuket??? Im putting pics of it on my profile, sorry guys you can see the Baddest Mail Box in the USA

The numbers on my Yellowfin with the 300 XS 2 stroke
Cruise 42 mph
WOT 69
Fuel @ cruise 4.2 mpg

The numbers on my Yellowfin with the 350 SCI Verado
Cruise 44 mph
WOT 74
Fuel @cruise 4.0

The numbers on a Yellowfin with 300 Verado
WOT 67 mph.

Both motors are very strong. Throttle response on the 300 xs is a bit snappier but not as strong as the SCI. The sound of the SCI is Awesome, sounds like a Jet taking off.

The Mailbox you refer to belongs to one of Merc Racings Engineers outside Fond Du Lac. He told me about that over Christmas. He put it together this past fall. He is the guy that helped pull the power out of that platform. One helluva Power Guru.. I was thinking about doing the same with an old 2.5xs 20" leg Cowl and splash pan I have. Not sure the wife would allow it..

Just trying to find info as much as I can on the 350sci. I am reriging a 36 Concept and is all ready for tripple 300xs, but was wondering if I put twin 350sci on instead what would be the speed diffrence.
3 300xs 1545lbs and 900hp.
2 350sci 1294lbs and 700hp. a diffrence in weight about 220 pounds lighter 200hp less. guessing verados will be slower?
