What boat magazines are available that would fit our type of readers even a little bit?

Hello,
Hot Boat and Propeller are good....
propeller, the official publication of apba, and hot boat the official publication of "Larry Flint" concerning boating, ahh hmm :D, Hot Boat has been the only effort since Bob Nordsgog passed, and even before, concerned from a "hobbyist" standpoint with "gearhead" interest in this sport. both, (powerboat, and hot boat) have been forced by rising costs to sell advertising and thus write articles about new boats rather than take it from a "garage" type effort to a "payment" type effort. :smiletest:

Just like everybody else...
I still think Scream And Fly is the best:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: for any knowledge you need about anything to do with boating, the people on it are smarter and know more than most that write in the magazines, they are good for reading up on news......I do like both of them and have many, funny I wish I took all of Phil's (that he saved) from the shop they are antiques by now, I'll bet he had every issue published ;) If only I would have thought...:nonod:
Larry Flynt is no longer at the helm of HotBoat. Things have cleaned up quite a bit.

Subscribed to Powerboat and its predecessors from about 1966 until maybe ten years ago. Dropped the subscription when every boat they tested cost over $100,000.
Went to HotBoat. Dropped that about one or two years ago when every boat they tested cost over $100,000.
I hear that Bass & Walleye actually talks about outboards, and I understand that John Tiger, who was great in, I think, HotBoat, writes for them. I have never seen that mag, even in the big bookstores. Now I have a link.
Scream & Fly is eons beyond any of them, though!

I subscribe to Hot Boat, Powerboat and Bass and Walleye. I get the first two mags to keep up on the latest in new boats, but short of being a millionaire, most are not affordable.
To answer your question, Bass and Walleye is much more oriented toward readers from this forum. There are plenty of shootouts between outboard manufacturer's, prop reviews, engine buildups and setups. I've been reading John Tiger since his Hot Boat days. He's a wealth of knowledge.
Alright John, I'll take that beer now.....

:iagree::iagree:Yea,The boats in the mags these days are too concentrated on expensive new boats, really not for the working man`s reality. Not much on technical info, this website blows them all away!
