wire tranfer..open a new account for it so you only use it once (what ever the bank will open for free) be sure the funds are there at least 3 days
Good luck with it

Any boats I have bought from the US I have paid for with either a Bank Draft (you guys call them a cashiers check I think) or a wire transfer.
Both are secure!
Never used paypal, fees must be huge:eek:

Remember it's a two way thing, it's a nervous time for us guys sending hard earned money to the other side of the world too.
That's why I said the bank draft, it's in US funds drawn on a US bank, it is essentially cash, without it neither party has anything. It can not be canceled unless it's returned to the bank it was drawn in! Pretty safe stuff... unless you shipping to Nigeria and being asked to refund the difference after you subtract shipping cost:eek:

I have sold a couple of boats over sea's..The wire transfers work great, but they have 48 hours to reverse the charges. so make sure you hold on to the boat for at least three days after the sale. as mentioned above i would open a new account just for this transaction and then transfer the money to another account

I receive money both ways ( Bank wire and Paypal ) for work I do for overseas customers all the time and haven't had any issues. Just make sure the buyer knows and send the funds in USD . Had a Brit make a mistake and send me money for engines I built in British Pounds via paypal. Was a mess for a couple of days. Also if they pay via paypal you must require an additional 3% or you be that much short on your total ...
Good luck.

There is no reversal if you are dealing with legitimate banks. Unless the details are incorrect and the US bank doing the transfer does not have an account holder in that name.
I always request a contact in the bank, banks address and phone numbers. I give those details to my bank, they transfer the funds to their US counterpart whom then transfers it to your bank/co-op/etc. My bank charges me 30 bucks australian and then the US bank slugs me another 30 bucks US to transfer it to you.
So make allowances for that too. I've used Western union too in the past, that way the person can wander down to their local western union branch and get the cold hard cash in their hand then run back and post me my bits.
As far as security on your accounts, how many of you guys use your social security numbers? Don't tell me, just change them.
I always google someone to check their details too.
As far as security goes my end, I find the fact that I'm permanently broke helps a bit!
