So you all know, this auction has been Brad Collins's baby from the start.
His idea, his work, his contacts.
So far we've gotten a lot of nice hats and tee shirts and thats about it.
HydroTec Marine (THANK YOU VERY MUCH!) Donated a new jack plate!
Also a gift certificate from Rodney Nances company to performane coat 6 pistons, thanx Rodney!
Mercury Marine sent us 2 Tee shirts, 4 hats and 6 can coolers.
Eddie Marine has a whole shopping list of hardware on its way to my house.
Here's the best one.
I have been having troubles with the Bennett trim tabs in my Sonic.
We thought the pump pick up was bad in it which usually requires a new motor.
I sent their tech/customer service department an e-mail describing my problem and explaining that I was thrashing trying to get my boat together in time to hit the road in the morning for a charity event I put on and attached a link to the Rumble.
I get up this morning to an e-mail from Bennett saying they checked out our site and were sending me a new pump at no charge (if I paid the N.D.A. charges) so I would be ready in time.
Here's the kicker. My tabs are original equipment in my boat and it's an '85!
And yes I told them that.
Well, I hit the drive way running at 7:30 this morning to finish trouble shooting the tabs and find out they are only low on fluid and three o-ring seals at the line hook ups have broken down from age.
I call Bennett to tell them that I am shocked at their generosity and ask if they would be interested in donating something of similar value to our auction for the kids??
I now have a gift certificate in my hands for a set of tabs for the auction winners boat!! You win the bid for the certificate, you get tabs for your boat.
A complete set too! Motor, rams, switchs etc!!
(anybody from Merc reading this??)
These guys were going to warranty replace a 17 year old pump to get me going, then they donate a full set of tabs!!
Oh yeah, the seals?? Being shipped N.D.A. to SpeedRacers house for me to install tomorrow.
And, NO CHARGE!
How close is this to dictionary definition of "customer service"??
One last thing, guess who will be bidding on those new tabs??:D
Just kidding, I kinda like my old ones. they have character;)
Thank You Bennett Marine!!
Gary
