I decided to brave the elements , no matter how harsh and take a ride on the Suwannee River saturday . It was tough finding a place at the ramp and the river was packed with boats despite winters cruel sentence ...............

It was miserably cold here this morning, the display on my truck read 46 on the way to work this morning.
Ya'll need to keep this weather up there where it belongs..It is only supposed to get into the 70s for the next couple of days.

I hope it's warm in Atlanta this weekend, I have aerobatic flight training in an open cockpit biplane [N3N] and would like not to freeze.

That's a Tough Deal Tom . How long did it take you to Shovel The Snow out of the driveway , in order to get the Allison Out of the Barn ? That's just a Hardcore Boater for you there !!!

I love when you guys come on here in winter(bad part is, isn't even winter here yet) and break our balls!!!!;):D:D Saturday here it was about 32 to 34, which is horrible but the 25 to 35 mph winds really made it feel like the Yukon!!!! Usually always get to use the boat 1 or 2 times in Nov. and maybe once in Dec. But this year I think that is out the window!!!!!! By the way 18 when I left the house today for work!!!!:icon_bs::( Chuck

I told him the best thing he could do was to stop talking to me right away and have a nice day !

Tom if you remember the last gathering you had when we ran north, we had to dodge all the canoes. Good thing for them though our boats don't make much of a wake at 80mph right LOL.
Got the trim actuator and gauge finally hooked up on the euro....what a pain fine tunning the adjustment.
Remember being cold on the water is only relative on how fast you go. Sure feels damn nice when you slow down though:D.

OK Rich now I understand, since we were behide you. And here I thought they were trying to be nice and waving to us. Get me thinking now that the one person in one of the canoes probabbly did have all his fingers when he was waving.

I was a little cautious as I did not want to piss anyone off.
When we left RR I had to stay low to get away from some birds and passed over the marina. I figured someone would get excited about us and complain.
I will try and return next RR if the plane is still in Florida. I also had a passanger and don't do as much as when I a single.
BTW, We rented one of the barge boats and checked out the drags.
I was really impressed with the boats and the performance. When I raced we had 110 Mercs and speedmasters. The fastest thing I ever drove, was a little over 90 mph. You guys make me want to get another fast boat!

Velox, I see where your airplane is becoming more popular with the RC'ers. Didn't you design it yourself?

Yes, I designed it and built all of the tooling for the planes. I own the company, but only put a new plane out at about one per year.
I have 2 under construction now with the parts for a third.
I learned the composite skill from building molds and several race boats eyons ago.

Nice , do you by chance know Ken Fickett of Mirage MFG . in Gainesville ? He built a small composite plane a few years back , can't think of the name right now ...Chinese came over to do a lot of the fab work on it .

It's been at least 10 years ago that I visited his shop in Gainesville.
I don't remember too much about his plane. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since then.
