Im looking to get a ball park value of a bare hull on a trailer. It has no motor.my friend has it at his shop.and he wants it out.it was left behind a few years[4} ago by a customer that can not be contacted.I want to make a fair offer as not to have bad feelings later on with my friend.once again a bare hull,no seats, dash wires, ect

I'm guessing no paper work either. It might be hard to get registration for that hull. I wouldn't give over the value of the trailer minus the disposal fee for the hull.

he knows the owner but the guy dissapered.so he is filing for a mechanics lien. Im guessing thats how it will done.back storage is the reason.so its looking like there will be good paper work.

I don't think there's any significant value difference in year models when you're talkin' 30 plus year old boats............ condition is what matters.
That having been said, I would think the boat would most likely be worth hundreds instead of thousands, and I think it's a good time to examine your intended use. These old boats were basically 60's/early 70's technology when a 125 to 135 HP was about the biggest thing you could buy. They have a LOT of lift built into the tunnel. Some have been run later with V6's, but they're death traps in my opinion. I know of one person who blew one over with an inline 6 and killed himself.
They're neat boat as collectibles, BUT if you have any expectation of running one much over 70 MPH you will be in a VERY dangerous environment.

thanks race man ,I agree my intension was an old 80 and hoping for 50 mph. Just an old classic that deserves a new life.I was thinking 400 bucks.
