Road Trip Boat Trips...where?

My buddy Dave and I were talking about making a road trip next fall/winter when our weather runs out up here....

1. Has to be a bigger lake/ocean type area.
2. WARM weather in october/november (60's and sun is good enough for us)
3. East of the Rocky Mountains
4. 24' Progression and 24' Sunsation Agressor, so we don't want flat water.

We were kinda thinking about the key west/miami poker runs but realized we were probably to small to enter and too expensive....

Would like to meet some other boaters with similar kind of boats (we both usually run with 24-35' offshore style boats.

Anyway where would you go?

Do they let smaller boats in? I know last time I looked at a couple poker runs the cut off was 27'

As far as I know, anybody can run. I saw boats down to 18' there. I have photos posted in the gallery. It was a really great time.

Come to Panama City Beach, Fl October 3rd thru the 5th for the APBA/SBI National Championships. Temperature is 70-75 no humidity, all the tourists are GONE, easy to get a nice condo for dirt cheap, no traffic on the streets, all the bars and restaurants are still open, 45 minutes to Destin, HUGE bays, ICW's, and of cource the big blue gulf all with easy access and tons of public ramps. It's a true go fast hidden treasure. :thumbsup: As a local boy, it's my favorite time of year. :cheers:

Destin or Panama city A bunch of us here from the New Orleans area went to Destin in October 2005 after the "thing". It was the weekend my wife and I were supposed to get married. We had the best time. We always go to the Emerald Coast P/R in Destin in Aug. but this was the best. ICWW for long runs when you want to air it out or run out in the bay or gulf if you want to go offshore. When you want some down time beach the boat across from AJ's and chill on the beach. Get hungry? A bunch of places to eat that you can get to in the boat. Oct. or Nov. you can get a awsome price on a hotel or condo on the water and keep the boat in a slip outside your door!

what is the usual time of year greg? we want to make a road trip during the time frame that we can't boat in michigan, instead of wasting a weekend where we can still be on the boats here....
