2 and 3 night min stays for a motel
add the high price of gas, food , layoffs, ect. It,s no wonder the stands are empty.:(

They only did that because stupid fans paid those prices. I quit watching when they changed the points system, too gimmicky for me.

Wife still loves it. I don't get it. I refuse to buy any more tickets to Daytona. How boring? Lets get some seats, stare through a chain link fence just to see nothing but the top of the cars go by. Can't see any more of the track than what is in front of you. I really don't understand why anyone pays anything when I can sit at home and not spend $5 a beer and get a better view. I can even ignore the 3 hour "pre game" show! That part is awsome. The only thing I can't ignore unless I turn the volume down is how, for the thousandth time, Carl Edwards could possibly clinch the championship. Oh, and I will give $100 for the first person to put a bullet in the Sprint girl standing in the camera with a stupid look on her face while the interview Jimmie after the race. That would be priceless!

Nascar is friggin boring now,the COT car ruined it,nascar might as well supply the teams cars and set them up as well, like arca.Bunch of rock stars instead of real drivers like earnhardt, allison, cale yarlbourgh, etc.Nascar is definetely in the crapper.I like NHRA!Went to the first event in charlotte,Nc,that was awesome!I will go to another one.

:iagree: Very well said. Thing is I'm a young guy. Didn't have the oppurtunity to watch in person the "good ol days". I did get to watch the 90's and up until Dale Sr. died. It was good racin and still had a down home feel about it. Now its all gone done the drain.
Guys get fined, suspended, points docked, etc... for cussin, hittin someone (with hands or car), anything thats not "politically correct". I never watch it anymore. Aint worth the trouble to even flip the channel.
Watched a real good show on CMT last night that went through the history of it. Showed how it started with guys runnin shine, that evolved to beaches in Daytona, to asphalt tracks, etc.. Back then it was who could build the fastest car, had the best driver, and pit crew. If only it would go back to that.

I agree fully. I don't watch it either anymore and it is so politically correct.
One of the best things in the book "Iron Fist", which is the story of Carl Kiekhaefer is how he kicked ass in NASCAR in the late 50's.
