How to drain gas tank

I did some searching but maybe i wasnt using the right words

whats the best way to remove all my fuel from my gas tank.

can i simply run the pump untill its empty.?

is there any easy was to syphon every last drop out.?

it may not get every drop but i have took a primer bulb and a couple sections of hose to siphon it out. then i run it in the tacoma:eek:

remove the fuel sender and use a approved pump to remove the fuel, you can then get a look to see if there is any crud in the tank and it will remove more fuel then using the fuel pick up as those dont go all the way to the bottom of the tank.

Don't use an EFI pump, use a squeeze ball. EFI pumps don't like pumping against no load.

I use an electric fuel pump cheap one from autozone. run long wires 10 ft from the pump 5plus foot fuel lines. Put pump outside boat and hook and sukem dry. Been working 5 plus years and do watch for fumes if you try to run the pump on the boat. Thats the reason for the long wires. Rick

thats exactly what I do. I run the hose right down the fill hose. and pull it out that way. The pump I got from autozone cost me $20

get one these babies for your tank. run it empty then just wipe dry with a towel.

simple enough to go thru fill tube.

I pump it out the fill tube. I park the boat on a side hill to get all the gas into one corner. Maybe 1 oz. is in the tank when I'm done.
