Hey fellas, this is my first time here and posting,my question is have any of you heard of a baker rst tunnel hull built with a ford v8 power plant and a berkley jet pump? If so i would like some more info and history on this boat as i have resently baught one and am very interested in what i have, Its a very custom looking boat and very fast, It kinda looks like an old trans-am in the front any info would be helpfull< Thanx, Also it looks like the hull was made for an outboard aplication but was customized for the jet pump and ford power plant.

But Stoker designed it ... he either sold or the hull was splashed by Baker. Lavey Splashed it from the Baker Bass boat(Ron Hill has some details) and added a new upper deck.
Here is Laveys version.

Call Johns Custom Marine in Stanton Calif. Its John and Al Stoker they are still building and selling boats, Stoker and Baker worked together for awhile designing tunnel hulls, they are a good boat, Baker built different models and had jets, IOs and outboard power on them. Stokers could give you more info. There # is 714 827 7920.

V bottoms they were involved with the design work. They also did the RST bottom. Taylors and Sleekcrafts were some of the first Mod VP style boats.

I never saw a Baker bass boat but the LCI/Lavey Sebring bottom is different from a Baker RST and Stoker SST (the ones I've seen with my own eyes) even though they all have 2 tunnels.

One Baker owner says there were 2 different RST bottoms????

My father and I built the plug for the 20 v- bottom and rst. Baker built the boats but never paid us for our work so we decided to make changes and build our own boats. The bass boat bottom was one that baker took an rst bottom and changed it. The rst was never intended to be a jet and would need bottom mods to have it work correctly the 18 does work as a jet

:cheers:Thank you all for your replies they have been helpful if any of you come across any more info plz pass it my way, the pics were also helpful, the pic of the blue boat with the O/B motor is exactly what mine looks like only with the v8 power plant, Racer what mods would need to be done to make it work right if they haven't been done already?

It was nice to see a pic of my old 83 Baker rst.
They are fun boats, not super fast but would make a great 90mph ski boat.
They turn on a dime and cut through wakes with ease!

I still have it but it has a big hole in the side of it and a cracked transom!
Doesn't look so good now.
I got launched off a rather large wake that came out of nowhere at about 80.
I guess you could say I stuffed it but it came down on it's side.
It didn't sink nor was anyone thrown from the boat or hurt.I lost interest in it after that and bought a 21 eliminator Daytona.

I uploaded pics to the original thread so take a look and let me know what you think, i got this boat for cheap with a mildly built 460 and a few other things as well, from what i was told this boat was put together special for a couple of rich farmers that live in elcentro and they were speed freaks so i am told, supposedly this boat is pretty quick, i have only had it out once and she had a few issues with the carb since it had sat for a season with old gas in it but now its ready for another try then i will have her finish redone, and motor rebuilt if needed.
