Value of 94 merc 200????

Whats a 1994 merc 200 with a hole in the block worth? I'm told that the lower is good and it looks clean otherwise. I am considering it for a new boat project. He wants $2000 right now; is that in the ballpark or too much?

that is way to much money. i have seen this type of motor going for around $1000.

It also depends on where the whole is and how much damage is done. If its gone through the water jacket inside the block most of the motor is trash.

Thanks guys. It seemed too high to me but I really didn't have anything to base it on; thats why I asked. I think I will pass on it!!!!
