It's supposed to remove scratches and heavy oxidation from gel coat. Read about it on another forum. The person that uses it works at a professional shop and that is all they use. Said that he tried aqua buff and had the clients call back within 90 days saying it faded back. Just wondering if anyone else over here tried it. Here's a link to the product. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Marine/Home/Products/Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECIE20S4K7_nid=FP8PGW07SCgs9NQK7NZ8TZgl1LNCF7C975bl

Wow!:thumbsup:That is astounding. It looks like if there is anything worth saving finish-wise on your boat, this would be a great place to start. What have you got to lose, especially compared to the cost of refinishing your entire boat?:D

That's what i was trying to accomplish and it actually worked out. I really glad because i really didn't want to have to paint it. Now i just have to wait for winter to be over to do the rest. Thanks

Did you do that with compound alone, or did you wet-sand first?

3m Tooling compound.... Orange, needs to be followed up with 3m finishing, white in a black bottle. Then waxed. When you compound you open up the pours, and they need to be sealed or it will stain.

works great, i used there 3 step process, plus there quick detailer on Mercury cowling, came out like new, color sanded first with 1500, then went to work with the 3m pads and a Milwaukee buffer, looks almost new.
