:confused:If someone sent a prop (with 2 hours on it) no signs of ever touching anything looks 100% new no scratches or nicks, to the shop to have it balanced because there was a vibration at lower speeds and the prop shop said that the prop shattered when he tried to repair it should the shop have warned you that this could happen ? Is this common practice or a strange thing that doesnt happen very often ? If someone sent a prop that they just paid good money for like a new prop out to be lab treated and the shop busted the prop should the shop make it good or should the owner of the prop be out. This happened to a friend of mine and I was just wondering if anyone else had a bad experience like this ? The funny thing is this shop has always done fantastic work, they have always treated me great ,they have been professional and honest. Thanks for any feedback on this subject. Joe R:confused:

I would want to see it before I made any judgement or comment.

The shop's reputation should tell you what is going on

The shop's reputation should tell you what is going on The shops reputation is the best, that is why the name of this shop has not been said. We are wondering how common of a problem is this . We all send a lot of props out for mods, and repairs,We where wondering if the owner is out or if the shop should meet you half way. This is the first time that I have heard of this. Has anyone else had this happen ? Should the shop warn you before a repair that this can happen or is it common practice to just say the prop broke. The owner of this prop is sending it back to the manufacture so they can look at it. Has anyone else ran into this problem during a repair if so how was it handled. Joe R

If the shop is sending it back to the manufacturer that says a lot ... they really think there was a manufacturing flaw.

It is extremely uncommon ... that is why you are not getting a lot of comments

I don't think they needed to warn you in advance. It sounds like in a way you got lucky that the prop broke there and not somewhere out on the water at high speed. Its a bummer to lose money, but its great to be home safe.

Hearing about this from my friend has made me a little gun shy about sending a new prop out for mods. Next prop I get I feel like having the manufacter enlarge the vent holes and lab finish it before I get it that way if anything goes wrong it is there problem. Joe R
